183 year old student rap group will be revived By DIRK ZIFF One of the oldest traditions at Columbia will be revived tonight when the newly reassembled Philolexian Society meets for the first time in over twenty years. The Society, founded in 1802 to provide the University community with an open forum for the free exchange of ideas and opinions, mysteriously disappeared in 1962. Philolexian Society re-organizer, Jeff Arle, CC '86, said that he and several friends decided to reassemble the Philolexian Society in response to what they perceive as a dearth of suitable ways for the creative spirits on campus to vent their talents and opinions. "The current outlets in the University community are either partisan or unsatisfactory," he said.
