The Philolexian Prize Orations. 'T' HE contest for the prize of fifty dollars presented by Messrs. Mills and Bull, former members of Philolex., for original orations, took place in Mott Memorial Hall, on Thursday evening, March 26th. There were four competitors : Messrs. J. G. Baldwin, Jr., 'B5 ; Temple Bowdoin, 'B5 ; J. V. Bouvier, Jr., 'B6 ; and E. McK. Whiting, 'B7. Mr. Whiting, the first speaker, treated of " The Danger that Threatens us," and in the course of his speech very kindly called the attention of the American statesmen and people at large to the fact (?) that this country is undermined by an organization of Anarchists, and is in as much peril from this cause as Russia, if not more.
