Who we are

The Philolexian Foundation is a New York 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN 06-1599779) that supports the Philolexian Society of Columbia University. This site (philolexianfoundation.org) is the Foundation's official web presence. Questions about this policy may be sent to philofoundation@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

Contact and inquiry forms. If you submit a form on this site (contact, remembrance, press, planned giving, corrections to the alumni roll or Works catalogue), we receive the fields you fill in, including your name, email address, and message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry and to update the Foundation's records where appropriate. We do not use it for marketing.

Donations. Donations are processed by Stripe. The Foundation receives your name, email address, donation amount, and (if you provide it) a message; we do not receive or store your card number, bank account number, or full billing address. Stripe's own privacy policy governs the payment-processing data.

Site analytics. The site is served from Amazon CloudFront, which logs standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for a short period; these logs are used for operational monitoring and are not shared with third parties. The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records aggregated pageview, referrer, country, and browser data without cookies, personal identifiers, or cross-site tracking. The site does not use advertising cookies or fingerprinting.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or exchange your information with any third party. We do not maintain a mailing list to which you would be automatically subscribed by submitting a form. We do not share donor lists with peer organizations, alumni groups, or the University.

How long we keep things

Contact-form submissions are kept for as long as they are useful to the Foundation's record-keeping, and are generally not deleted; the Foundation is, by design, a long-memory organization. Payment records are retained by Stripe and by the Foundation's Treasurer as required by IRS rules governing 501(c)(3) organizations, generally seven years. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by writing to the address below; we will comply to the extent consistent with our record-keeping obligations.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Stripe's donation checkout, if used, may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and session management; see Stripe's cookie policy.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and the Foundation does not knowingly collect information from them.
