PHILO HOLDS DINNER TO MARK 125 TH YEAR Winners in Annual Poetry, Fiction and Essay Competitions Are Announced. At the annual dinner given by the Philolexian "Society last Saturday evening the annual awards for the poetry fiction and essay competions were announced by Jacques M. Barzun '27, president of the Society. The dinner was also given in celebration of the one hundred and twenty-fifth anniversary of the founding of Philolexian. Groff Conklin '27 of New York City, received the poetry prize for his blank verse narrative entitled "Creon and Ismene". Harold C. Brown '2B was the recipient of the award for the best short story. The one which he submitted was "When 1 was Gilles de Retz" and appeared in the last issue of Varsity. Jacques M. Barzun '27, newly elected president of the society and winner of the Philolexian Oratorical Prize won the essay contest. His essay entitled…
