PHILOLEXIAN SOCIETY ELECTS NEW OFFICERS Arnold Kotch, '2l, was elected president of the Philolexian Society at a meeting of the society last week. Other officers elected were: F. P. Hammond, Vice-President; Andre Mesnard, '2l, Secretary; Hudson Hogland, '22, Treasurer. Plans for the dramatic production of the coming year were discussed and a committee, consisting of Soskind, '22, Kotch, '2l, Bond, '2l, and Graves, '22, was appointed to make arrangements for the play. The Philolexian banquet, which will wind up the drganization's activities this year, will be held on. May 12 at the Columbia University Club. Arthur Hopkins the well-known Broadway producer, will be the guest of honor.

QUESTION OF DRAMATIC POLICY UP BEFORE PHILO Plan Extended Discussion of Best Play Choice—May Depart from Former Custom Before going ahead with the production of their annual play\, the Philolexian Society, beginning with their meeting next Thursday night at 8:00, in 306 Philosophy, will spend several weeks discussing the policy they wish to adopt in selecting a play. G. W. Mead of the Department of English, coach of last year's Philo show, will speak on <"Phi!o's Future Policy." Since most of the Philo plays during the past ten years have been chosen from the Elizabethan period, many members feel that there is a general impression that Philo's sole aim is to present plays of that period, and that a change in policy is desirable.
