Four more men were elected to Philolexian Society at a special meeting held yesterday noon in Earl Hall. Eleven men were elected in all, seven men having been elected at the regular meeting Wednesday night. The four new men are Roland L. Loiseaux 'lB, R. L. Peek, Jr., 'l9, F. R. Sanborn 'l9 and H. L. PHILO WILL DONATE PRIZE FOR POETRY Best Poem in Monthly, Written by Underclassman, Will Win Five Dollar Award. The best original poem submitted to the editor of Monthly by a Freshman or Sophomore next month will win a prize of $5.00 that Philo decided to offer at the regular meeting of the society on Wednesday night. Professor Erskine, some member of Philo and the editor of Monthly will judge the contest. Final details of the poem competition will be announced later. At the meeting of the Philolexian Society last night it was decided to invite thirty men to speak for admission to the Society at the meeting next Wednesday evening. Twenty-three of these men are Freshmen and the other seven are members of the Sophomore and Junior classes. FRIESS WINNER OF PHILO PRIZE Victorious in Annual Contest With Oration on Eloquence and Progress. The Philolexian Society held its first 1918 meeting last night in the Trophy Room of Earl Hall. First on its program was the' initiation of the newly elected members of the society, over which Dr. Dixon R. Fox, a Philo man of 1901 presided. Dr. Fox gave a very interesting talk on his past experiences in the society, and at the close of the initiation welcomed the new members to the society.
